The 10K course is a challenging yet beautiful rural route with breathtaking mountain views.  Participants start at Ponderosa Park and turn right onto Belle Shoals.  This section of the course winds around the base of Six Mile Mountain with two long hills leading up to Terrapin Crossing, where participants then turn right at the stop sign.

Once on Terrapin Crossing, the course descends until it reaches Stewart Gin Rd.  Participants will take a left onto Stewart Gin where the course descends slightly until Prater's Creek Rd.  Turning right onto Prater's Creek, runners encounter a fairly level road which leads back to Terrapin Crossing.

Participants will take a right turn onto Terrapin Crossing, where they will climb a moderate hill up to a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The course then continues left onto Kelly Mill Rd., which is a straight descent to Liberty Highway.

After turning right onto Liberty Hwy, the stretch of the course has two long uphill climbs and then descends to its lowest elevation.  Runners will stay on Liberty Hwy until turning right on Ponderosa Dr, following the road back to Ponderosa Park.  The race ends at Ponderosa Park.

There will be a raffle for all 10K and 5K race participants

after the awards are presented.
